This unique surftrip to Imesouane. You will depart in the early morning from Agadir, Morocco, Tamraght or Taghazout and spend all the day on the beach in Imesouane. Imesouane is a famous surfvillage for it’s long waves, perfect for beginners, intermediate and longboarders. Different then Taghazout, Imesouane is a very calm and peaceful place, not discovered by big groups of tourists yet also the waves of Imesouane are very different as the waves in Taghazout.

Beginner surfers can follow the beginner surflesson or intermediate surfers that will follow the intermediate surf course.
The location of Imesouane
Imsouane is situated between Agadir and Essaouira. From Agadir you step into the car for a great ride along the coast and through the mountains. We depart at 08:30 from your accommodation. The journey takes just 1.5 hours. During this road you cross many beaches like Boilers, and we pass banana villages and the Small Sahara. Once you’re almost there you still need to cross the high mountains, Imesouane is located below this high mountains.
Imsouane is a remote village surrounded by mountains on the coast. On top of the mountains we make stop to explore the area and enjoy the stunning view over the bay.

Het small village boasts two beautiful beaches! We start with a hike over the beaches and find the right spot to enjoy the ocean. whether you surf, swim or just enjoy the beach. We are sure that you will enjoy the relaxed vibes and beautiful views.
Surf in Imesouane
In the daytrip to Imesouane 2 hour surflesson are included. This is inclusive your surfequipment rental and professional surfinstructor.
Imsouane has a beach-break surfspot ( la Catedrale ) and a point-break wave (la bay) .The famous spot: La Bay has the longest waves of Morocco. If the swell is enough the waves are rolling down the coast into the beach. The easy right-handers can roll down for more than three kilometers! This makes this spot a true heaven for longboarders.
If La Bay is overcrowded or if there is not enough swell you can just take your board under your arm and walk 500 meters to the other surfspot. La Cathedrale has more consistent waves all year round. This beach has several right and left peaks. On the left side the reef is ending in the beach what make a perfect reef break. This beach is suitable for beginners and advanced surfers!
Authentic fishers village
After enjoying the beach we take time to explore the traditional fishers village. The open harbour is a hectic work spot where local fishermen run off and on with freshly caught fish. The traditional fishing boats moor, after which the catch is processed and brought to the market hall. It is an interesting spectacle that you can watch for hours.
Lunch in Imesouane
Imesouane doesn;’have a lot of restaurants because it is such a small village. But Imesouane has something that you won’t find anywhere else! With a beautiful view over the bay and the harbor you can try the fresh fish. You can see the fisherboats coming in, and brought directly to your plate. According to many Moroccans, the best fish to eat in Morocco!
After the lunch and tour trough the village you will have some free time to go shopping, find that sweet secret spots or hang out on one of the beach of Imesouane.

Hi! I’m Tarik, a motivated and passionated surfer that is always smiling haha! You want to learn how to surf? I will get you on your board riding your first waves in no-time! Come to my surflessons and you will have besides learning how to surf also have a lot of fun. In my free time I like to repair broken surfboards and make designs on surfboards.
Dive into the ocean with me! I’m Salah and maybe the most quiet one of the group but I really enjoy it to see you in some waves. I have a lot of patience in the water what is very important if you are choosing the right waves. After surf I like to drink some Moroccan tea during sunset, you are welcome to join! 
The surfguide
Zouhir is Moroccan surfchampion 2007 & 2008, coach of young upcoming pro-surfers and founder of Surf Paradise Morocco. He loves to share his deep passion for surfing with travellers from all over the world. Are you an intermediate or advanced surfer? Then you will definitely going to surf with Zouhir during the surfcoachings or surfguidings! Since he was just a little kid he was already surfing the big waves of this area so he knows exactly where the waves works the best. He is really motivated to get you to that next level. Also Zouhir loves to make videos and analyzing your surf during the evenings to progress your surf even better.

Great to welcome you in sunny Morocco and great to meet you! I’m Suzanne: born and raised in Holland but now living in the collorful Morocco for already 10 years. I did set up our small and cozy surfcamp in Morocco together with my husband: Zouhir, who is also national surf champion and pro-surfer. Together with our team we love to welcome you and show you not only the touristic side of Morocco but also the raw and pure Morocco that is very beautiful aswell! We have experienced that it is all about the beautiful people that you meet along the road, the fantastic memories you make and the endless fun that you had that makes a holiday unforgettable. Imesouane is located on the Atlantic coastline of Morocco between Agadir and Essaouira. The surf in Imesouane is just amazing! Imesouane hidden behind big mountains and has two surfspots. The village is so small that you can walk from surfspot to surfspot.

La Cathedrale in Imesouane
is the surfspot on the North side of Imesouane. The surfspot is a beach break with a mix of sand and rock and offers nice right-handers. This spot in Imesouane needs a bigger swell to work, but if it is working magic is happening! The waves are stronger and more powerfull than in the Bay.
Going towards the line-up is a bit of paddle, especially if the swell is stronger. Look for some currents that can take you up towards the line-up.

Surf level: Beachbreak for beginners, the line-up for intermediate/advanced surfers
The Bay in Imesouane
The famous surfspot that everyone knows about when they come surfing in Morocco. This is a point-break that starts from the harbour in Imesouane. The waves take you (especially with stronger swells) all the way down to the beach. The spot is working on low and midtide. The surfspot the Bay in Imesouane is perfect for beginner and intermediate surfers.
Intermediate surfers can walk to the harbour and jump from the reef into the ocean, so they are directly in the line-up.
Tides: Low-Mid tide
Underground: Sandy beach, and close to the harbour reef and rocks
Crowded: Many times very crowded, especially when surfschools arrived. Try to surf in the early morning/ sunset
Surf Level: Beginners can surf close to the beach, From the line-up close to the harbour it is paradise for intermediate surfers
When is the surf in Imesouane the best?
October – March
Good surfable waves in Imesouane is very dependent on the swell. Because there are only two surf spots in Imesouane, you have to take this seriously into account. If the swell is just wrong, days can go by without surf in Imesouane (there are plenty of other fun things to do in Imesouane!) That’s why the best surfing season for Imesouane is winter, fall and spring. In high summer the waves are often not enough if you are really looking for an open wave with power.

Children in Imesouane
The actvitiy: surf in Imesouane suitable for every age. The surfing itself can be done from the age of 7 years old. Also they need to be able to swim and feel confident in waves.
If you book this activity for children an adult need to be with the children at all times.
With over 330 days of sunshine a year you can visit Imesouane all year long. In the wintertime (dec-feb) there are some strong swells for the advanced surfers, you have the change to surf the big famous waves of Morocco! In summertime you there are small or medium waves, this is more suitable for beginners. In the wintertime there are tempratures around 15-20 degrees and the watertemprature is around the 15 degrees. The rain is very rare in this area so you’ll have great weather trough the whole year!
If the waves are not good enough and you want to go surfing we will contact you before the daytrip starts. We will schedule another day, or plan another location for your surftrip.
If we are already on location and the waves are disappointing, please discuss this with the surf instructor first. We will then look for another surf location in consultation with you.
In Imesouane there are only a few restaurants, that mostly offer fish dishes. Also there are delicious options for vegetarians or vegans.
If you have an special diet, please let us know in advance so we can arrange an delicious lunch for you aswell!
